The Federal Government has finally re-arraigned former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki before an Abuja Federal High Court.
Dasuki was arraigned on a seven count charge of unlawful possession of firearms and money laundering.
The offences are contrary to Sections 28(1) (a) of the Firearms Act and 18(3) of the Money Laundering Act.
The Federal Government alleged that an aggregate sum of $210, 000 and N42 million was found in Dasuki’s houses in Abuja and Sokoto.
Dasuki however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
A Lawyer and consultant in Lagos Dr Olukunlayo Joseph however told knottedpost that money laundering charges would be a hard sell
“They might have some thing to go on with the fire arms charges but it’ll be difficult to pin a laundering charge on him, and even then his post being a former NSA will give his lawyers a lot of leverage with the arms possession charge”
