Knottedpost and several of its sister publications suffered from a sophisticated DNOS attack on the early hours of June 29th.
The attack which began around 12AM GMT lasted till late evening london time caused a seven hour downtime on several Knotted publications.
“The identity of the culprit is still unknown and might actually never be known” Sam Slender our security expert said.
Knottedpost had in the last few weeks received numerous threats from third parties who were concerned about its independent reporting that especially centred around Northern Nigerian issues.
The use of cyber warfare against free press has unfortunately become common place in Africa with numerous publications reporting attacks whenever controversial stories are published.
Knottedpost remains committed to providing alternative view points to our consumers who have been suffocated with one-sided stories for decades.
