Alhaji Aminu Nabegu, Permanent Secretary Special Services, Office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has appealed to Gombe Government to relocate markets on highways.
Nabegu, who was in Gombe for a two-day quarterly Federal and States administrators meeting, made the call in Gombe on Friday.
He said that the relocation of the village markets on highways to safer places would ensure the security of lives and properties.
He said for security reasons such market’s were at risk hence the need for their relocation.
“One of the issues in our meeting is having market’s near highways which is a serious security concerns.
“We emphasise to states to as much as possible try to relocate those markets that are so close to highways to safer places for security reasons,” he said.
He also expressed his displeasure on how communities were reacting road blocks and speed breakers on major highways in the country, which he described, as a security risk.
Nabegu said the meeting would enable the members from 36 State to learn security issues in various states and how to tackle it in their states.
He added that at the end of the meeting they would come up with a communique on difficult topical issues and how to address them
